Cycling

So, I’ve taken up cycling, just to get more fit, and also the buses got annoying as well.  I’ve got this bike from my very good neighbours, they said they just needed more space in the garage, so I’ve accepted the kind gift ;P

I’ve been cycling all around my local area, and a bit out further too, I reckon I racked up around 100miles in around a month or so. Cycled to college for the first time on Friday, taking over all the traffic that I used to sit in while going there with a bus.

Since I’ve got comfy with the mountain bike, I noticed the drawbacks and disadvantages with it. So I’ve been looking for some road bikes as well, I’ll probably going to get a used one in August.

Hopefully I’ll keep on my cycling legacy. ;-D

Summer

Hi, decided to write a post again (lol), summer has arrived finally and I’m almost finished my studies at college. Can’t wait, only a month left. Yay.

Going to have a month of summer holidays, going abroad for a few weeks in July. Then starting the apprenticeship in August AND then starting open university in October. Woohoo…. Going to be busy few years for me there..But I’m pretty certain I’ll enjoy the experience.

And now, I just wanted to post/share a few of my favourite pictures or comics from the lastmonth or two. Some people don’t find them at all, some love them ;P

Apprenticeship at Oakam

So a good month back, or so, I decided to apply for some apprenticeships, just to see if I would be invited for interviews. Applied to six of them, three rejected me and got one invitation. Removed my other two applications. So oakam invited me for an interview a week back. The interview was pretty relaxed, nothing special, turned out to be a pleasant chat at the end, I was satisfied. Few days ago they phoned me up and asked me if I’m still interested for the position.

So they accepted me, and i’ll have to go visit them once more, and then I could start it in August. Pretty decent.  My official title will be “Apprentice Advisor” and I’ll be working in one of their retail stores, also I’ll gain quite a few good certificates along the way as well. As I can re-call, they said I would most likely get a full-time job with them at the end.

Oakam is a pretty new financial company, they have approx 15 shops, and plan to OPEN up a staggering 100 shops within two years or so. I love the sound of that, the company is going to be massive soon, and I could be a part of it. Sounds pretty good, that’s as much as I know myself right know, I’ll update the blog more, as I find out what’s going on.

Oh, I’m still going college, these are the last two vital months, I finish and gain my diploma in July, can’t wait to finish college. :>

Tea ‘healthier’ drink than water

So it’s soon 1am and I was reading BBC news when this article caught my eye. So apparently drinking tea is better than water, and they recommend you to drink 3 to 4 cups a day. Oh my..that’s a lot of tea to drink. Well at least I’ve had one cup of tea today. ;-P

Birthday

So it was my birthday on Tuesday. I forgot to make a post about it, even tho i was promising myself I won’t forget to do it, silly me. So yeah, I’ve turned 18 finally, can go pubs and such, nothing special. I’ll probably have a lil friends gathering, drink some beer, BBQ and so on, thats pretty much it from me.

Uptime Rant

So as you can see from the previous post, I’ve got new dvd-rw drive and Iv’e installed new slack, since then i havent had a single restart,a nd the uptime was nearing 30days. Of course this might not seem even slightly important to some people, but certain unix guys like to boast about their uptime, so do I, lol. This is not even that big of an uptime, but what happened was, when there was 29days, 22hours, and only a few hours left, our power has gone out. Pretty lame:(

Two new purchases

So apart from getting a brand new hosting, I also bought a new pair of earphones and a DVD-rw writer \o/

Ive got  Samsung SH-S223B / 22x DVDRW Internal SATA Drive

and 

Sennheiser CX300 In-Ear Headphones

As I’ve received the deliveries yesterday I thought I’d post about them a bit. So far I’m pretty satisfied with the DVD-RW writer purchase, already burned some CD’s, re-installed my OS to Slackware 13.0 and I can say I’m more than happy with it, exceeded my expectations (as this is my first and only SATA DVD-rw writer).

As for the earphones, I’ve owned quite a few sennheiser headsets, and i was more than happy to buy and use their products again, so when an opportunity popped up, I bought a nice pair of these earphones, the reviews are  great, lets hope this product exceeds my expectations too.

Birthday

Hello folks, my birthday was on monday, sorry for writing a post then but i was busy partying on monday, and busy recovering from mondays partying, so i decide to write a post early today. It’s  5:44 am now. So i had a few little parties scatered in  between weekend and monday with my friends. Had good time received some gifts etc. Overall i am feeling older now! lol even i am still pretty young. Alright guys ill write some more later on i ordered a new mouse yesterday, so ill write about it.

Urban Terror

So I wanted to tell you guys about this game I play often these days. Its called Urban Terror or URT for short. You can visit the website here: http://urbanterror.net/news.php It’s using quake3 engine and its similar to tremolous and other games based on q3 engine :] It has wide variety of weapons to play with and its pretty strategic as well. If you like first person shooters you should try it out as well its much fun and you can play with me as well!
